Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer

Human Capital Officer Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing the annual HR Business Plans derived from Strategic Plan
  • Identifying, designing and implementing Strategic HR Projects as and when required.
  • Development, reviewing and ensuring compliance with HR practices and procedures.
  • Coordinating, monitoring and evaluating performance management and appraisal processes.
  • Developing and implementing effective and equitable job grading and salary structures.
  • Driving staff engagement initiatives i.e. training, education, leave and rotation.
  • Preparing and monitoring the departmental budget
  • Developing the manpower plans, conducting recruitment and selection, induction and development programs.
  • Managing employees’ relations and grievance processes
  • Handling industrial relations and staff legal matters.
  • Ensuring conducive work environment and overseeing employee welfare, safety and health.
  • Manage staff claims, benefits, cards and company vehicles.
  • Preparing HR metrics, reports on all staff HR related issues and payroll management.
  • Carrying out general induction of new employees.
  • Maintaining sound employee/employer relationships.
  • Train, supervise and appraise staff under you.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications for the Human Capital Officer Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Management or Finance
  • Must be registered with Institute of Human Resource Management. A higher diploma in Human Management Resource Management.
  • At least 5 years’ human resource generalist working experience of which five (5) should be in a senior management position heading a HR function.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of labour laws and labour Union activities
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent counseling skills
  • CPA (K)
  • Must be registered with ICPAK
  • Diploma in Cooperative Management is an added advantage.
  • 30 to 35 years’ old
